Add value to your visit by enjoying a Day Trip to Macau during your stay in Hong Kong
Across the Pearl River delta from Hong Kong, the former Portuguese colony of Macau is a popular day trip that gives you a chance to experience an entirely different culture and pace of life than you see in Hong Kong.
Our full day tour of Macau takes in all the main attractions of this unique city and allows you time to go shopping or explore sites of particular interest to you.
Historic Macau was first colonised by the Portuguese in around the sixteenth century, although few relics remain from this era. It is the oldest European settlement on China's coast, and boasts any number of temples forts, ruins and a strange mixture of influences from Europe and the Orient.
Amongst the many attractions of Macau that you should seek out during your visit, some of the highlights are the Ma Kok Temple; the ornate ruins of St. Paul's, Penha Hill, the Old Monte Fortress, the Guia Lighthouse, and the Macau Museum, which has a comprehensive collection dedicated to the history of the colony.
Macau is famous across the Far East as a casino city, and many people arrive there each day to test their luck on the roulette wheels and blackjack tables. The casinos are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and there are several to choose from including traditional floating junks in the harbour and Las Vegas style casino resorts. Should you fancy a flutter during your trip to Macau, there is plenty of time to do so on your tour of the city, although you should avoid getting carried away, as the return sailings to Hong Kong do not operate at night!
